Miscellany

I plan to add some favorite sites here in just a sec. One is BookCrossing.com; I finally had the nerve to register a book, write about it, and make plans to release it (sounds like a wild animal, or a bunch of butterflies). Check it out. The only problem I've found with the whole book releasing thing (and it's hypothetical at this point, as I haven't really done it yet) is that you have to find a book that you liked enough to recommend to others, but not one that you liked so much that you actually want to keep a copy. Do you see the dilemma?

Vista and baby Ethan

Yes, our world does revolve around Ethan these days. So, the other day Matt bought Windows Vista... as a side note, he is one of few people I know who buy operating systems. Most people just buy a new computer. Anyway, Matt bought Vista, and after installing, etc., discovered it has parental controls. Absolutely irresistable for a new parent. Ethan now has an account on Matt's computer. He can't get on after 10 pm and before 6 am. He's blocked from playing any violent games. Good thing. He's too young for World of Warcraft.

Ethan's Baby Book

I bought a baby book for Ethan today, after looking for some time. Hallmark books are nice, but expensive; I had no idea. Then there's a boutique in town called Snug as a Bug... someone gave me a gift certificate, and I thought I might buy one for Ethan there, until I discovered their custom-made albums cost upwards of $200. So, I bought an unusted vintage 1930's album for Ethan on eBay, and I plan to cut out the pages, punch holes and put them in my own custom-designed album with his name on the cover. All for a fraction of the Snug as a Bug cost.
